Jake Gyllenhaal, A Great Date, and New Years

Wow, I have quite a bit to say for this post! Let's see if I can cover it all while resisting the urge to stare at Jake's beautiful face : D

Well for starters, I fell in love with Jake Gyllenhaal's fantastic acting after I saw The Day After Tomorrow. I must have watched that movie a dozen times over the years, it really is wonderful and captivating. I highly recommend it if you haven't already seen it. After that I became addicted to movies with Jake in them. I literally started pulling random movies off the shelf at Blockbuster the second I saw his name on the front : P

The first of which was Brokeback Mountain. I know that many people have labeled this as "the gay cowboy movie" but I highly disagree with that. The story of Brokeback Mountain will break your heart, not to mention the passionate acting performed by Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal. They both channeled their characters very well, and their dedication shows.

The next movie that I randomly watched just for Jake was The Good Girl. This one stars Jennifer Aniston, and it was alright. It didn't blow me away like Brokeback Mountain and The Day After Tomorrow did. The acting was great, but the story didn't intrigue me until about halfway through the movie. I personally liked the ending for that one, it was very interesting.

Okay, enough ranting about Jake's yumminess, I'll move onto my enjoyable date that I had with NHC today. This morning I went to Barns and Noble for breakfast with him and his family, which was great fun! : ) They're all very nice, and I wasn't the only one there who was very chatty.

I dragged NHC to a few places afterward, such as JoAnne's and Petsmart. I forgot to mention in my last post for background info that I collect candles. I know that seems strange (especially since I have about 40 candles in my room) but I really love scented candles. JoAnne's is great for bead shopping, and they have a good many candles too : )

Petsmart was more fun for him, I think. My boyfriend really is a sweet guy, and I love watching his face melt into a smile when we're petting dogs. I love animals too, and I've done a lot of petsitting over the years.

We also went to Blockbuster, more as a way to get out of the wind than our interest in movies : )

I don't get to see him as often as I'd like (we no longer go to the same school) so our dates are highly treasured.

And my final object of discussion: New Years. It's coming up, people, do you have a resolution for 2009? My main goal is to stay in touch with friends that I don't see very much anymore because we go to different schools. That's always tough, and it takes a lot of effort not to drift apart from people when you don't see them as much. . . . .

Well whatever your resolution is, look forward to the new year! It's a clean slate, a chance to look back and to look ahead. Starting things with a positive attitude is always a good policy, and it's worked well for me so far.

~Enjoy your New Year!

First Post

Wow, I've never had a blog before. . . . . this'll be interesting, I guess : )

Mostly it'll just be my random thoughts and feelings about my life and/or the people in it. I guess a good way to start this would be to give a little background info:

I love to read! I'm even in a bookclub (kinda geeky, I know) which has been surprisingly fun! At first I thought I'd just end up fighting with everyone else's opinions, 'cause I get very passionate about books that I love. Stephenie Meyer's books (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and The Host) being one example. If you're a teenager and you're looking for something to read, I highly recommend
the following books: Maximum Ride (James Patterson), Animorphs (K. A. Applegate), The Sight (David Clement- Davies), Inkspell (Cornelia Funke), Fire Bringer (David Clement- Davies), The Lightning Thief (Rick Riordan), Redwall (Brian Jacques), Children of the Lamp (P.B. Kerr), Artemis Fowl (Eoin Colfer), Pendragon (DJ Machale), The Sea of Trolls (Nancy Farmer), Magyk (Angie Sage).

Another hobby of mine is beading. Making necklaces, bracelets, and earrings is great fun if you're a creative person who's interested in jewelry! It can also be quite profitable, as I found out this winter ^_^ I sold a good many pieces for people looking for holiday presents this year.

There are many people that I'll probably mention in the future, but I'll use their nicknames for privacy's sake. Some close girlfriends: Alanna, Nikki, Synfan, Leni-la Some good guyfriends: Mezzic, Danny, MOS, and NHC

NHC is actually my boyfriend, and I'm going to see him tomorrow for breakfast : D We don't go to the same high schools, though, which really sucks. . . . . But we live fairly close to each other, which is good.

I have an adorable, sunny poodle named Hershey, and I love her! She's very cute, she melts your heart when you meet her

That's about all for now, so byeeeeeeee
